Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski announced securing EUR 32.5 million for 66 projects across 44 municipalities by reallocating funds from six ministries and an agency. Kovachevski highlighted the goal: prioritizing citizens’ needs by collaborating between central and local governments.
The funds, totaling Mden 2 billion, were redirected from ministries of health, education, labor and social policy, transport, communications, culture, environment, and the Agency for Youth and Sport. These finances will aid projects like street reconstructions, school constructions, medical facilities, and sports infrastructure, aiming for better services, education, health, and more sports opportunities.
Kovachevski assured continued support for municipalities, while Finance Minister Fatmir Besimi praised the process, emphasizing support for citizens’ development through capital investments. Besimi appreciated the MPs, Budget Committee, and government colleagues for backing projects enhancing citizens’ quality of life.
Besimi commended efficient projects prepared by mayors, all slated for completion by year-end, ensuring optimal utilization of the allocated funds.
