Turkish Ambassador, Tulin Erkal Kara, held Wednesday a reception at the Alexander Palace Hotel in Skopje on the occasion of the Republic Day of Turkey.
The reception was also attended by Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi, Minister of Justice Renata Deskovska, former President Gjorge Ivanov and his wife, deputy ministers, directors and other representatives of state institutions.
There was a scandal at the reception after which Parliament Speaker Xhaferi left in protest. Namely, the Parliament Speaker attended the event as the highest state authority, but his suppression in the back rows outraged Xhaferi, so he left the reception in protest.
An additional reason for his leaving was that the ambassador in her speech presented former President Ivanov as the first and current president of the Republic of Macedonia.
