The Prime Minister Zoran Zaev admitted in an interview with Radio 77 that the adjective Macedonian is being negotiated with Bulgaria and that the Bulgarian side insists that it should not be used as in the example, Macedonian history, but that the history of the Republic of Macedonia should be used instead.

In international communication one cannot say the Macedonian Government, but the Government of Macedonia. The use of Macedonian or similar is not disputable, but it is a problem when one talks about Macedonian textbooks, about Macedonian history, when one talks about Makedonski Brod. So they insist that the history of the Republic of Macedonia is used everywhere, said Zaev.

Zaev added that such use in our country is already politically resolved and that historians from the Bulgarian side should receive guidance from our Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
