The heavy snowstorm which enveloped Macedonia prevented Prime Minister Zoran Zaev from landing in Skopje on his return from Davos. His plane is likely to be diverted to Istanbul or Sofia.

Some flight watchers have already posted a plane landing in Sofia after circling around Skopje, believing it to be the official plane of the Macedonian Government. Government spokesman Mile Bosnjakovski would not clarify Zaev’s flight plans.

The storm caused traffic problems across the country, with vehicles sliding off the roads.
