Macedonian citizens living abroad registered in exceptionally low numbers for the coming presidential elections – only 1.782 of them asked to vote and major diplomatic centers like Athens, Solun, Ankara, Sofia and Tirana got less than 10 voters.

This minimum threshold was surpassed in about 40 cities, including Brussels, Washington, New York, Berlin, Pristina and Belgrade.

For comparison’s sake, more than 20.000 Macedonian citizens from the diaspora registered to vote in the 2016 general elections.

More than 50.000 citizens used their right to examine the election rolls, to see if their details are correct and if they are registered to vote in the proper location, the State Election Commission informed.
