Even without a signature from President Ivanov, the Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia today published the amendments pushed through the Parliament on Friday, which rename Macedonia into North Macedonia.

The amendments bear the signature of Talat Xhaferi, not President Ivanov. According to Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, this violation of the law is acceptable because the Parliament adopted a decision to declare the amendments valid at the same time when they were voted on.

President Ivanov announced he will not support the renaming of the country.
