The Anti-Corruption Commission accepted the complaint filed by VMRO-DPMNE that the Zoran Zaev Government is unlawfully moving forward with a controversial deal to cover debt owed by private wineries to vineyard farmers during the electoral campaign.
Some 1.25 million EUR were paid to 2.000 farmers after the campaign began, which is a violation of the law preventing unplanned public spending during the campaign. Even more suspicious is that the funds are not paid in the form of the usual farming subsidies, but the Government is covering the debt which privately owned wineries have accumulated toward their suppliers.
