A brutal killing shocked Prilep on Friday evening when a 36 year old man identified by the police as H.K. stabbed to death his 33 year old girlfriend E.G. According to the police, the murder was perpetrated in front of the 10 year old son of the killed woman.

A police spokesman informed today that the two partners had an argument, and that the murderer was drunk. He stabbed the victim in the chest with a knife multiple times.

Shortly after the murder, news sites scoured the Facebook page of the killer and found a photograph of his with Prime Minister Zoran Zaev. It is still unclear whether he was an activist of the ruling SDSM party and if so how high up the party structures he was, or whether his association with the Prime Minister could help him try to escape justice.
