The UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination released its latest findings on Bulgaria. They recommended Bulgaria ensure ethnic minorities like the Macedonian and Pomak groups fully enjoy their human rights, including implementing relevant European Court of Human Rights judgments. Concerns were raised about limitations on freedom of assembly and association for Macedonian minority groups, urging Bulgaria to remove obstacles to their rights and encourage their activities. These findings emerged from the Committee’s session reviewing several states ahead of the 75th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
