Distinguished journalist Predrag Dimitrovski died today, after a brief illness.
Dimitrovski built his career in the Vecer daily newspaper, as journalist and editor. He was the editor in chief of the best red of the two old newspapers in the country in 2005 and 2006. He joined daily Dnevnik, before assuming a major role in the Lustration Commission, that dealt with Macedonia’s totalitarian legacy by opening the files of the secret police.
The final stage of his career was spent in Republika, where he specialized on the burning issue of the historic dispute with Bulgaria. Earlier this year he received lifetime achievement award from the Macedonian Association of Journalists.
