The Healthcare Ministry reported Friday 1,161 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the number of active cases in the country to 21,797.
However, according to the authorities, the hospitals have available beds, and the Healthcare Ministry assures that they are in constant contact with all hospitals and if necessary, the capacity of the covid wards will be further expanded.
The total number of patients positive and suspected for the coronavirus who are treated in the Covid centers in the capital and in the hospitals across the country stands at 1,340.
Doctor Dejan Trajkovski, on the other hand, shared that the statistics show that 3.50% of the total number of diagnosed 14 days ago died. However, out of all those who were hospitalized 14 days ago (the average time of hospital treatment), 34.8% have died so far! Specifically, of all those diagnosed, 9.3% reached the hospital, and of those who entered the hospital, 34.8% (every third patient) died.
Since the outbreak of the epidemic, Macedonia has registered 72,044 confirmed coronavirus cases, while 48,170 people have recovered. The death toll stands at 2,077.
Putting Covid-19 aside, however, the chronically ill and other patients complain that even after 10 months, the authorities have failed to respond to their health needs.
