VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski believes that with France’s non-paper, the road to EU membership is becoming even longer. According to him, the non-paper shows that outgoing Prime Minister Zoran Zaev has distorted the truth about to what extent domestic reforms have been implemented.

It is obvious that our partners in the European Union have stated that there are double standards in all these aspirant countries that want to become members of the European Union, so they say – if you open a group of chapters, here I would group them, so when you close them you will need to continue generating values for what you have closed. If they find that you are only formally closing them and you do not actually adhere to what has been agreed there is a possibility of going back to that group of chapters and that could turn into a never-ending story, said Mickoski.
