Nikola Gruevski, Macedonia’s ex-prime minister, said Saturday in an interview with Sitel TVthat he had fled the country via Albania before reaching Hungary where he was granted political asylum, but did not disclose the details of his movement.

“From Macedonia, I went to Albania, where I requested political asylum in the Hungarian Embassy in Tirana, and from there I came to Hungary. For security reasons, they decided for me to be transported in the manner in which it was performed. According to the current government, they will reveal all details about the escape, so let them do what they promise,” Gruevski responds to one of the questions in the interview, adding that nobody from the government helped him.

The whole interview will be broadcast on Sitel TV’s news at 19 :00h.
