The government will not terminate the office lease agreements of former Presidents Gjorge Ivanov and Branko Crvenkovski, as requested by the Anti-Corruption Commission. According to the government spokesperson, until the legislation on rights and privileges is amended, they will act in accordance with existing laws.
Government acts in accordance with legal provisions. If there are changes in the privileges of former officials of the RNM, the Government will respect and act upon them. As long as these powers and privileges for former officials are in force, i.e. as long as the same law is in force, it will apply, government spokesperson Muamet Hoxha said on Wednesday.
Former anti-corruption commission member Arif Musa says the Commission should thoroughly investigate how former presidents use the benefits, as well as check the constitutionality of the law.
