Katica Janeva, detained as the third suspect in the Racket case, has been dismissed from her post at the helm of the Special Prosecutor’s Office on Saturday. The remaining special prosecutors’ status will be decided by the Council of Public Prosecutors on Monday.
Following the Council’s decision, the public prosecutor Ljubomir Jovevski, who, if he decides, has the opportunity to reassign the cases to the prosecutors that handled them.
Of the cases in which the SPO has filed more than 20 indictments, only three have been fully closed, several have been returned for retrial or waiting for a statement from the Court of Appeal.
