VMRO-DPMNE President Hristijan Mickoski attended a Konrad Adenauer Stiftung – CDU party economic conference in Berlin where the list of speakers included Manfred Weber, the EPP party candidate for European Commission President, as well as Bundestag Speaker Wolfgang Schaeuble.
We used the conference to present the economic proposals contained in the VMRO-DPMNE program and to discuss the potential German investments in the Republic of Macedonia. It was an opportunity to discuss with some of the leaders of German economy, Mickoski said.
The conference continued with a round table on countries in transition. Mickoski also met with Christian Helbach, responsible for Balkan countries in the German Foreign Affairs Ministry.
During the meeting we discussed the political and economic situation and the European integrations of the country. I emphasized that the citizens should not be punished for the lack of reforms, the corruption and the crime which are being stimulated by the Government, and that it is important that a date is set to begin EU accession talks, in order to strengthen the European future of the country, Mickoski said.
