VMRO-DPMNE’s President Hristijan Mickoski met Friday with deputy coordinator of the parliamentary group of the CDU / CSU, Thorsten Frei.

At the meeting they discussed the current political developments in Macedonia, the excellent relations between the sister parties, as well as the European perspective of the Republic of Macedonia. Mickoski stressed that our country is facing a serious problem, high rates of crime and corruption in the highest echelons of the government. He added that almost all major cases of high level corruption still lack legal solutions, and involve senior state and party officials of the ruling party. The VMRO-DPMNE leader has indicated that the new VMRO-DPMNE-led government will focus on resolving this bitter problem and will focus on substantive reforms in the judiciary and the rule of law, VMRO-DPMNE said in a statement.

The interlocutors reaffirmed the excellent relations between the two sister parties, VMRO-DPMNE and CDU, and agreed that there is room for further deepening of cooperation.

The President of VMRO-DPMNE emphasized that the strategic commitment of VMRO-DPMNE and the Republic of Macedonia is membership in the European Union and the support that our state receives from Germany and the government of the sister CDU / CSU throughout this past period is crucial, VMRO-DPMNE said.
