VMRO-DPMNE President Hristijan Mickoski met with the Austrian Ambassador to Macedonia Georg Woutsas. During the meeting, Mickoski discussed the corruption issue which Macedonia is facing, as well as its push to join the European Union.

I emphasized that the main strategic orientation of VMRO-DPMNE is that the Republic of Macedonia joins the European Union, and that we fully implement Western standards. Given the challenges our country faces, I pointed to the crime and corruption among top Government and ruling part officials and their impunity which is a big issue given the racketeering scandals Racket 1 and Racket 2, as well as other high level corruption cases which have not been resolved. We need fundamental reforms in the judiciary to restore the rule of law in Macedonia, Mickoski told the Austrian Ambassador
