VMRO-DPMNE’s President Hristijan Mickoski met Monday with Owen Paun, director of the International Republican Institute for Macedonia and IRI representatives.
The meeting focused on the current political and economic situation in the Republic of Macedonia, as well as the possible forms of cooperation and potentials that exist.
Mickoski emphasized the lack of perspective and disappointment of citizens with the corruption scandals and the involvement of senior government officials and the Special Prosecutor’s Office. He pointed out that the law on public prosecution is of great importance, but it must be on a principled basis in accordance with the Constitution. Otherwise, the new Public Prosecutor’s Office risks being an extended arm of the authorities, and tomorrow when that government goes into opposition, it will be a means of defense against the crime committed by the ruling elite.
The president of VMRO-DPMNE pointed out that in the past two years the Macedonian citizens have been impoverished and added value in the economy is not being produced.
The interlocutors agreed that the excellent cooperation between VMRO-DPMNE and IRI must continue and should be further enhanced.
