In an interview with MRTV, Defense Minister Slavjanka Petrovska said that the main accomplishment of Macedonia’s NATO membership is its safety and stability, and that the country is now working to use this to its financial advantage as well.

As Minister, I stand at the disposal of the business community and the chambers of commerce, for companies who want to enter the NATO market. We will add proper human resources and methodology to the Center for support of companies, that will allow Macedonian companies to even more strongly enter the NATO market, Petrovska said.

She added that the Ministry will work to timely inform citizens of the benefits of NATO membership, and to express support and solidarity to the Ukrainian people. “We are an even partner in NATO. There are no large or small countries there, we are all equal and all voices are heard. The main message is that this invasion succeeded in unifying NATO and the EU, and most of the world, and we send a strong message as allies to say that there is no compromising with democracy and the fight for human rights”, Petrovska added.
