VMRO-DPMNE Vice President Aleksandar Nikoloski declared that the local elections are an absolute victory for hte opposition party. VMRO cruises to victory in the capital Skopje, in Bitola and Ohrid this evening, after winning almost all other major cities and urban centers in the first round.

Nikoloski accused the ruling SDSM party of engaging in a massive campaign of intimidation and vote buying, which never the less was not enough for them to turn the outcome around.

What we saw were the worst organized local elections in the history of our country. There must be accountability for their conduct. The VMRO-DPMNE leader will address the public soon, but what I can say is that this is a major obligation and responsibility on us, to show that Macedonia can do better, Nikoloski said.

VMRO leader Hristijan Mickoski is set to address the public, while there is still no word from the SDSM camp if and when they will hold their first press conference of the evening.
