I am shocked by the statement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Dimitrov, that the Macedonian language spoken by the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia has nothing to do with the language of the Greek Macedonians. 24 hours have passed, and nobody has denied this claim yet, the candidate for President of the Republic of Macedonia, Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, reacted.

 

I wonder, if so, in which language did Dimitrov’s ancestors originating from Aegean Macedonia speak? In a language other than the language that he speaks today? In which language did my and the ancestors of thousands of other Macedonians who live in the Republic of Macedonia speak, and whose roots trace back to Aegean Macedonia ?! Not on our behalf, Mr. Dimitrov! she added.
