The latest numbers issued by the State Statistical Office show that Macedonia welcomed 94,165 visitors in October, of which 27,257 (28.9%) were domestic tourists and 66,908 (71.1%) were foreign tourists.
According to the press release, “187,272 nights were spent in October 2023, with 36.7% being spent by domestic tourists and 63.3% by foreign tourists.”
When comparing January through October of 2023 to the same months in 2022, there was a 21.2% increase in visitors; domestic travelers increased by 0.1%, while overseas visitors increased by 38.6%.
In January through October of 2023, travelers stayed in Macedonia 9.8% longer than they did in the corresponding months of 2022. 1.1% more nights were spent by domestic tourists and 23.5% more nights were spent by foreign tourists in the country
