Macedonia’s Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani addressed on Thursday the plenary session of the OSCE Ministerial Council, stressing the need for joint management of challenges within OSCE and beyond, including transnational terrorism, risks of arms trade, mass migration and humanitarian crises.

As the future chair of the Organization in 2023, Macedonia will work to preserve and promote the core values and principles of the OSCE, starting from the beginning of next month, as part of the trio of chairs, along Poland and Sweden, said Osmani.

In his address, Osmani pointed to Macedonia as an example of a functioning multiethnic democracy, in harmony with the values and obligations of the OSCE. Finally, Osmani stressed the importance of the European perspective for the region, as an important factor for its security and stability.
