State prosecutors told PressingTV.mk that they are looking into the allegations of corruption in the Skopje Gynecology Clinic.
A scandal developed yesterday, when the financial director of the clinic, Valon Bela, accused director Viktorija Jovanovska of signing overpriced contracts with providers of pharmaceutical materials. In response, Jovanovska accused Bela of blackmailing her, demanding that she extends the contracts of several part-time employees from his DUI party, and threatening to publish damaging material if she doesn’t.
Healthcare Minister Venko Filipce, who comes from the SDSM party, dismissed Bela yesterday.
Prosecutors told PressingTV that they are examining the allegations and is determining the facts of the case.
Bela was recently shot in the leg, after an argument with fellow DUI party members.
