Presidential candidate Blerim Reka said in Thursday’s debate on TV Telma that despite being backed by the Alliance for Albanians and Besa, he is an independent candidate.

I said clearly and loudly that I would be independent when I ran. The fact that the two parties supported me is to be welcomed, they supported an independent candidate. When I saw that there will be only two candidates from the Macedonian majority in the race, I think it would not be fair if there is no candidate that does not belong to the majority, said Reka.
