Macedonia will most likely not join NATO in time for the December summit in London, as the political crisis in Spain prevented the ratification of the accession protocol.
Most of the countries that were expected to possibly block Macedonia, primarily Greece, already went through the procedure. Spain is not expected to block Macedonia accession to NATO for political purposes, but because of the fragile political scene which prompted yet another early general elections, reports the 360 Degrees news program.
The program cites Spanish political commentator Miguel Rodriguez Andreu who insists that domestic political considerations make it very difficult to ratify the protocol before December, as both houses of Congress are currently disbanded.
