The Interior Ministry (MoI) has always acted in line with prosecution orders regardless of who might be involved, Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski said commenting on the detention of former governments secretary general Muhamed Zekiri, who is charged with abuse of office.
This case was handled by the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecution of Organized Crime. It took more time, until the evidence was obtained, of course at the assessment of the Public Prosecutor’s Office when they thought they had enough evidence or arguments to raise this suspicion, it was realized, Spasovski said in an interview with Telma TV.
He said that high-level corruption is the biggest challenge for institutions, but it is, he said, a segment of corruption.
It is devastating for any society when persons who hold public office and who are supposed to serve the people participate or are suspected of corruption, Spasovski said.
