Speaking on the nation’s EU accession process, Health Minister Arben Taravari regretted that Macedonia and Albania split apart while travelling to the EU during today’s tour of the Tetovo Clinical Hospital.

“Vredi” again insists that Macedonia must start the negotiations. Macedonia has no alternative but the European Union. I hope that we will do everything we can to start the negotiations within the 6-month period that we said. It is good that Albania started negotiations, but it is bad that we separated. But we have to understand that there is no government on the Bulgarian side at the moment. We expect elections to be held there. I hope that we will find a solution and that “Vredi” will be an accelerator and a trigger for Macedonia to start negotiations with the European Union as soon as possible. And the prime minister is in favor of starting as soon as possible. And he is for the EU like all the parties in the government, Taravari said.

He expressed his joy, together with the hospital’s director, at seeing the investments made in the first 100 days of the government’s operation during his visit to the Tetovo Clinical Hospital. Taravari noted that one of the focusses is the decentralization or regionalization of public health. He announced plans to invest in the Tetovo Clinical Hospital for the upcoming year, including new building construction, for which funding and a project would be developed. He also mentioned improvements to the paediatrics department and equipment.

The elevators are put into use and function as they should. Also, the roof of the internist section of the hospital is almost finished and there are words of praise from the entire medical staff. We have an investment in the ambulances of surgical clinics – an investment that is shared by the hospital and the company “Ekolog”. There is also an investment in the ambulances of the internal department. The internal department at the Clinical Hospital in Tetovo looks good, Taravari said.
