Slagana Taseva, head of the Macedonian anti-corruption organization Transparency International asked the Government’s Secretary General Dragi Raskovski what exactly was he doing at a meeting that covered a sizable public procurement. Raskovski is in the heart of corruption allegations after a leaked audio tape revealed him discussing an EBRD credit to purchase air traffic control equipment.
The General Secretariat of the Government was not involved in this contract in no way whatsoever. This was not a job for the Secretary General and he needs to explain why he found himself in that situation to even be talking about it, Taseva said.
The audio tape, published by the Expres news site, and it shows Raskovski talking with officials from the air traffic control about the contract worth more than seven million EUR and the various bidders from Italy, France and Spain who were involved.
