Lawyer Aleksandar Tortevski called for the immediate questioning of outgoing Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva, following today’s leak of video and audio tapes. In the audio tape, Janeva’s close associate Bojan Jovanovski – Boki 13 assures businessman Jordan Orce Kamcev, as he accepts a bag full of money from him, that Janeva won’t use the legal options available to her and will allow Kamcev to be released from house arrest.

Legally speaking, Janeva is not compromised because her name is mentioned by another person, but, given that she is a top level official, this would warrant further investigation into the content of the conversation. Her actions in this case needs to be examined, we need to determine whether the acts mentioned in the tape actually happened, and whether her actions in this case were different from what she was doing in other cases, Tortevski said.

Janeva has not been charged yet in the case, more than three weeks after the arrest of Boki 13, and she is reportedly currently out of the country, using her vacation on top of a sick leave she requested.
