Betty Baziana, Alexis Tsipras’ partner, visited the grave of Georgios Zorbas in Skopje, and paid her respects.
One of the most famous Greeks, Zorbas served as an inspiration for the character Alexis Zorbas in the Nikos Kazantzakis book Zorba the Greek. He lived a part of his life and died in Skopje, in 1941. He was buried south of the Macedonian capital, before his grandchildren moved the body to the main Butel graveyards.
