Agriculture Minister Ljupco Nikolovski tried to re-assure citizens today that Macedonia has sufficient reserves of food. Nikolovski initiated an online meeting with his counterparts from Serbia, Albania, Montenegro, Kosovo and Republika Srpska.

At the moment, Macedonia is supplied with sufficient quantities of food. We will keep channels of communication open and exchange information at the regional level for possible new sources of import. We jointly agreed that the citizens should not be concerned, Nikolovski said.

Food shortages were reported in some stores across Macedonia even before the Russian invasion on Ukraine, as the inflation and Government’s attempts at price fixing caused disruptions.
