Leading supplier to the global pharma and healthcare Gerresheimer AG is to build a new plant in Skopje, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev confirmed on Thursday.

This investment, as he said, will create 400 new jobs.

A huge investment has been agreed, the second after the signing of the NATO accession protocol. This means that investors recognize the country as a stable and secure destination, Zaev said.

Deputy Prime Minister Koco Angjusev said that the company product portfolio includes applicators, insulin pens, inhalers and blood glucose meters, which are used worldwide.

A quarter of the number of employees will be staff with high paid jobs, the rest will be with high technological knowledge, said Angjusev.

The company currently has 50 plants around the world. Gerresheimer AG annually generates revenues of about 1.3 billion euros, or, as Angjusev said, 1/3 of the budget of Macedonia.

Angjusev added that this is the first of the five phases of the investment, with the following being larger.
