After Friday’s meeting SONK union and the Education Ministry, which was also attended by Prime Minister Zaev, Minister Arber Ademi said that they are close to reaching a solution.

Ademi noted that all solutions were considered in line with the capabilities of the government and the ministry, but did not disclose details of possible acceptance of all the conditions of the Trade Union of Education Workers.

The progress in negotiations was also confirmed by SONKpresident Jakim Nedelkov, adding that there was still work to be done after opposing the arguments on both sides.

Nedelkov announced that there will be several more meetings between the Trade Union and the ministry next week, which are expected to reach an agreement. He reiterated the view that SONK maintains the rquest – salaries increase to take effect on January 1, 2020.
