During Monday’s hearing in the “Talir” case, Prosecutor Lenche Ristoska updated the indictment due to amendments in the Criminal Code affecting the statute of limitations for the charge of “abuse of official position and authorization” against Mile Janakieski.
Judge Osman Shabani announced that the Court will release a statement regarding the expiration of the statute of limitations on the charge against Janakieski during the next hearing on November 11. Subsequently, the court will proceed with the main discussion following the procedures outlined in the Law on Criminal Procedures.
Apart from facing charges related to “money laundering and other income from crimes,” Janakieski is implicated in this case.
In the broader investigation into VMRO-DPMNE’s financing, former party leader and Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski faces charges of “abuse of official position and authorization” and “money laundering and other income from crimes.” Similarly, the former Secretary General of the Government, Kiril Bozhinovski, faces these same charges.
