Blackmail by Bulgaria lasted for years to end in a capitulation accepted by the SDSM and DUI government through the last proposal that was accepted which was popularly called the French proposal, but essentially if you read it it is essentially a Bulgarian proposal. It gives legitimacy to all Bulgarian demands and puts them as a condition for Macedonia’s progress to the EU, said the vice-president of VMRO-DPMNE, Aleksandar Nikoloski, in an interview with TV Alfa.

Nikoloski pointed out that the key problem in accepting such an agreement is that the government of SDSM and DUI accepted this proposal based on the Agreement on Friendship, Good Neighborliness and Cooperation between the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Bulgaria and therefore the referendum question calls for the cancellation of this agreement, i.e. the the law on ratification of the agreement.

This agreement was signed in 2017 by Zoran Zaev and Boyko Borisov, and that agreement is the basis of all Macedonia’s problems. Because it was ratified in the parliaments of both countries as international, and Bulgaria has the right to change the essence of the existence of the Macedonian people and the Macedonian state, that is, to strike at the foundation of the Macedonian state. If Macedonia does not meet the conditions for Tsar Samuil, Saints Cyril and Methodius, who are Saints Clement and Naum, who we are and what we are, Macedonia will not enter the EU and such an agreement was accepted by the government of SDSM and DUI, Nikoloski said.

He pointed out that Bulgaria claims that it only coincidentally borders Macedonia on the western border, and in essence it bordered itself because on the western border on the other side, according to them, native Bulgarians live who speak a dialect of the Bulgarian language and believe that Bulgaria should border Bulgaria.
