Corruption poses an extreme danger as it erodes democratic institutions, undermines trust in the state, and complicates business operations significantly. Therefore, combating corruption is of utmost importance across all levels and at all times,” emphasized NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
Regarding whether his parliamentary address aimed to encourage lawmakers to adopt constitutional amendments as a condition for the country’s EU path continuation, Stoltenberg refrained from direct comment. However, he highlighted the significance of Macedonia’s progress on the EU membership path for the entire region’s benefit.
