The Court of Appeals in Skopje today lifted the house arrest for Mile Janakieski, accused in several cases of the former Special Public Prosecutor’s Office. The information was announced by the Criminal Court.
The Court of Appeals Skopje submitted a decision to the Basic Criminal Court Skopje on November 18, 2021, by which the Court of Appeals, acting on the appeal filed by the defense of M.J. defendants in the cases “TNT”, “Titanic”, “Talir” “Toplik”, “Trajectory” and “Spanish Steps” upheld the appeal for the abolition of the measure of house arrest. According to the decision of the Court of Appeals, the defendant is given precautionary measures, ie: ban on leaving the territory of the Republic of Macedonia and the City of Skopje, obligation for the defendant to appear in court and ban on obtaining another passport.
This means that from today, Janakieski will defend himself from freedom in the court trials in which he is accused. He was first ordered detention on November 14, 2018.
