A large protest of farmers is planned for Saturday, over the request that farming subsidies are paid on time by the Government.

Subsidies are currently being paid only to select groups of farmers, which has caused anger in the community. Farmers in Bitola and near-by Mogila have protested several times already, claiming they are still owed their payments for 2018 and 2019, as well as because of the low prices. Tobacco growers are expected to join the protest as well, which will gather around the Government building.
