Healthcare Minister Venko Filipce dismissed Valon Bela as financial director of the Gynecology Clinic, after Bela accused the clinic director Viktorija Jovanovska of corruption.

Bela wrote a Facebook post in which he claimed that Jovanovska is rigging procurement contracts in favor of a company tied to her. Filipce initially said that he will confront both parties, but later
announced that he is firing Bela.

Jovanovska, for her part, claimed that Bela was asking her to extend the contracts of part time clinic employees from his DUI party, and threatened her that he will publish wiretaps of her conversations if she refuses to do so. The scandal confronted the two coalition partners, SDSM and DUI, who share management of many public institutions.

Bela was shot in the leg in December, after an argument with a group of other DUI party activists.
