The SDK news site reports that a forensics team is still working on the computer seized from the son of disgraced former Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva – Lazar Janev.

The device was seized from the offices of 1TV, the television owned by Bojan Jovanovski – Boki 13, where Lazar Janev worked as a top financial officer, on July 15th when Boki 13 was arrested which prompted Janeva’s first resignation offer. According to SDK, Janev’s computer is being searched for clues about where the money the group extorted ended up.

In the biggest of their exploits, the group allegedly led by Katica Janeva and Boki 13 extorted 1.5 million EUR from businessman Jordan Orce Kamcev, in three installments, one of which was featured in a security camera video which was leaked through the Italian La Verita newspaper. The flow of the money is expected to provide key evidence about other people involved in the extortion, and is expected to lead to top SDSM party officials.

SDK reports that the investigation determined that the famously high spending Boki 13 blew some 300.000 EUR on varioius luxury items in Italy. One presumption about the rest of the money is that it was being paid to Katica Janeva through high bonuses given to her son for his engagement in 1TV.

State prosecutors recently insisted that the investigation is actually complete. This claim, coupled with revelations that Katica Janeva and Boki 13 stil haven’t been properly interrogated, devices such as Janev’s computer haven’t been examined yet and the reluctance to go after SDSM party officials have let the impression that the investiation is more of a cover-up.
