Since Macedonia’s accession to NATO two years ago, the UK has worked closely with the Army of the Republic of Macedonia to support it in realizing the capability targets set by NATO, says British Ambassador Rachel Galloway in a statement to mark NATO Day-April 4.
Our job, Galloway adds, involves regularly deploying short-term training teams to advise on infantry tactics and leadership development.
Our transformation advisor is integrated into the Ministry of Defense and is engaged in advising on NATO processes and interoperability. In the last year, we have established a training coordination cell in Skopje to harmonize and optimize our training support. We have provided donations and state-of-the-art overnight accommodation systems and in the coming months we will deliver new electronic targets and a temporary building for urban and hybrid training at the Krivolak testing site, says the British ambassador.
