Jane Velkovski, an 11 year old boy from Macedonia who suffers from spinal muscular atrophy spoke at the UNICEF World Children’s Day event in the United Nations, where he also met with David Beckham and Millie Bobby Brown.
Since I was very young my parents taught me I can do everything other children can, but differently. As I grew up I made that my rule. My big passion is football, it gives me strength and energy and makes me happy. Football ties me with many famous people and makes me a fighter for equality in sports. I believe that everybody in the world can play football, regardless how. It’s not easy when you are using a wheel-chair as there are many obstacles on the path. My disability does not bother me, what bothers me are the barriers in my surroundings, Velkovski said.
