A Skopje court ordered that disgraced former Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva will remain in detention for additional 30 days.
Janeva’s defense team pledged her property as guarantee that she will remain in the country if she were to be released or sent into house arrest. Prime Minister Zoran Zaev has reportedly announced that Janeva will be released from detention this week, a claim Zaev denied, although he acknowledged that he met with Janeva’s lawyer Irena Frckoska.
Janeva is charged with abusing her position to extort millions from businessmen she was prosecuting.
