The Government decided Friday to declare a crisis situation on the entire territory of the Republic of Macedonia for the purpose of protecting the public health in circumstances of a COVID-19 pandemic declared by the World Health Organization and prevention of its spread and endangerment of the people’s health.

The government has thus confirmed the yesterday’s recommendation of the country’s Security Council, chaired by president Stevo Pendarovski, to declare crisis situation for a period of 30 days in order to effectively deal with the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic.

This will mean that the army is getting involved in the fight against the coronavirus, and the state will be able to manage the resources of private hospitals.

A crisis situation does not mean that there will be a curfew.
