Skopje Mayor Danela Arsovska informed the public that there are serious issues with the reconstruction of the Universal Hall center, and the way the previous mayoral administration was pursuing it. She said that changes will have to be made in the project if it is to go forward.
The previous administration was aware of the problems, but still ordered construction work to proceed. The problems were noted since August 2021, and they include insufficient parameters in the concrete structure. We await a report from experts before we decide whether to demolish the already built structure or try to repair it, Mayor Arsovska said.
Arsovska said that the city is now facing obstructions from the Mayor of Centar, the municipality where the hall is, who has not given permission to change the project.
