VMRO-DPMNE President Hristijan Mickoski congratulated the citizens of Macedonia on National Uprising Day – 11 October.
On this great day the Macedonian people rose up in the fight against fascism and continued the struggle for Macedonian state. The aim of the participants in the uprising who rose up against the fascist occupation was to achieve the centuries-long aspiration for the creation of an independent and sovereign Republic of Macedonia. This was a great victory for our people, but also a contribution to freedom in Europe, said Mickoski.
The sacrifice of those who rose up against injustice, the opposition leader said, should be an example that the struggle for Macedonia never ends and that each generation has its own battle.
Today, Macedonia is pressed by new challenges, difficult daily lives and uncertainty. Poverty and corruption jeopardize the future, and poor health, destroyed agriculture, lack of reform, migration devastate our society. These are the things that we all must change, bring about renewal and build the future, share European values and fight for the European perspective of the Republic of Macedonia, Mickoski said, adding that 11 October is an example of the Macedonian unyieldingness that we must preserve it.
