VMRO-DPMNE President Hristijan Mickoski met with French Ambassador to Macedonia Christian Thimonier to discuss the intimidation and attacks the opposition is submitted to during the presidential campaign.
According to the VMRO press release, Mickoski also detailed cases of abuse of office on the part of the Government to advance its candidate in the elections, the abuse of the police, and other violations.
Top priority for the future progress of the country is to have democratic elections. Another urgent priority is to reduce the political influence over the state administration, the judiciary and to increase the economic growth rate, Mickoski also said during the meeting with Thimonier.
The opposition leader added that VMRO supports Macedonia’s membership in NATO and the European Union. France is one of the most outspoken opponents of the opening of EU accession talks with Macedonia in June, a date which Zoran Zaev set as his goal.
