VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski met with Bilal Kasami, leader of the ethnic Albanian BESA party to discuss the fast changing political situation in Macedonia. The two party leaders also discussed the major corruption scandal which brought down Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva and has implicated officials from the ruling SDSM party.
The meeting was held to discuss the strategic integration of the Republic of Macedonia, as well as the potential of cooperation. It was noted that the current Government has blocked the ingration process and that major reforms are needed to have them re-activated, VMRO-DPMNE said in a press release, adding that Mickoski and Kasami discussed the high corruption levels and the serious suspicions of organized crime emerging from the highest levels of the Government.
